At MZO Research & Consulting, I am dedicated to advancing the well-being of individuals, families, and communities through skilled, culturally responsive research and evaluation. My work is rooted in collaboration, respect, and a commitment to producing knowledge that serves people and strengthens communities.

I have spent my career designing and leading projects that help communities and organizations better understand critical issues, public health concerns, and educational curricula. My approach centers the respectful integration of culturally traditional ways of knowing and learning with Western research methods, ensuring the work is both culturally responsive and methodologically sound.
I have extensive experience leading culturally responsive evaluations for Tribal nations, federal agencies, foundations, and community organizations. My work integrates Indigenous and Western methodologies to assess education, public health, and community-based initiatives, with a focus on meaningful outcomes, data sovereignty, and actionable learning. I partner closely with Tribal leaders, educators, and community members to design evaluations that strengthen programs, honor lived experience, and support informed decision-making.
I approach my work with the belief that relationships and families are critical to individual development, and I have conducted extensive research and project work focused on strengthening secure bonds and safe relational environments.
I am committed to community-based research and collaboration with communities of all backgrounds, with deep experience partnering with Indigenous communities in ways that uphold Tribal sovereignty. My approach emphasizes trust-based relationships, shared decision-making, and the meaningful integration of community knowledge throughout the research process. By prioritizing reciprocity, cultural respect, and data sovereignty, I support research and evaluation efforts that are community-driven, culturally grounded, and responsive to local priorities.
My work is grounded in understanding and preventing violence, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and the impacts of historical trauma. I focus on research and evaluation approaches that center healing, resilience, and protective relationships, while partnering with communities to develop prevention strategies that are culturally responsive and trauma-informed. Through this work, I aim to support pathways to safety, wellness, and long-term community well-being.
